Description
Trekker Full Length Extra Firm Orthotic – Arch Support Insoles
Trekker Full Length orthotics are intrinsically medially posted arch support insoles, built with additional posting options for triplanar control of pronation and forefoot loading. The Extra Firm density is designed for larger or heavier frames (generally over 80kg) who need a more substantial level of control underfoot than a standard-density insole can provide.
Podiatrist-Level Construction
Unlike basic cushioned insoles, Trekker orthotics are built with clinical detailing normally found in prescription devices:
- Inverting Heel Cup with Intrinsic Medial Skive – helps control rearfoot motion at the point of heel strike
- Navicular Support – reinforces the arch where it needs it most
- Recessed 1st Metatarsal Cushion – takes pressure off the big toe joint during push-off
- Location for Lateral Post – allows further customisation if additional correction is needed
- Anti-Bacterial Top Cover – stays fresher with daily wear
Who These Arch Support Insoles Are For
- Adults over ~80kg needing firmer control than standard-density insoles offer
- Overpronation or collapsed arches where the foot needs consistent triplanar support
- Anyone transitioning from off-the-shelf insoles toward more structured, podiatrist-style support
- Full-length coverage for everyday shoes, work boots, or walking shoes
Sizing
Available XS through XL, sized to both men's and women's US shoe sizing. Full-length design fits most closed footwear; trim guides are marked for fine adjustment if needed.
FAQ
How is "Extra Firm" different from the standard Firm or Medium density?
Density affects how much the insole compresses under load. Extra Firm holds its shape best under higher body weight, giving more consistent arch support insoles for heavier frames. Lighter individuals or those wanting more cushioning may prefer the Firm or Medium density instead.
Will these fit in my regular shoes?
Yes — full length design fits most closed, lace-up, or work footwear. For a lower-volume shoe, the 3/4 length version may sit better.
I run or do high-impact sport – is this the right insole?
Trekker is built for structured everyday support rather than running-specific cushioning. If you're managing plantar fasciitis or heel pain during running, the Formthotics Sport ShockStop is purpose-built for that.
I have a high arch – is this suitable?
Trekker's firm density is designed primarily for pronation control. If you have a high arch (pes cavus) and need extra cushioning rather than firm correction, the Silipos SoftZone gel insole may be a better fit.
