Description
Formthotics Football Insoles – Arch Support for Football Boots
Formthotics Football Insoles are designed for the narrow, low-volume profile of football boots, delivering arch support, heel stability and better force distribution without adding bulk or changing how the boot fits around the ball. Stock insoles in football boots are almost always flat and thin — they compress quickly and offer zero arch support, which contributes to arch fatigue, heel pain and forefoot soreness across a full match or training session.
Made from thermoformable Formax™ foam in New Zealand, the Football insole can be heat-moulded in-clinic by a podiatrist for a custom fit or worn straight from the pack. The slim profile is designed to replace the stock sockliner without raising the foot inside the boot or affecting cleat feel.

Football Insoles vs Running Insoles
Football involves rapid changes of direction, sprinting and lateral cutting — the loading pattern is very different from straight-line running. The Football insole is shaped for boots with moulded or screw-in studs and a narrow last, so it sits properly inside the boot without shifting. If you also run in trainers, the Sport Run Dual is designed for that shoe profile instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will these change how my boots fit?
No — the slim profile is designed to replace your stock sockliner, not add to it. Remove the existing insole first and insert the Formthotics Football in its place. The fit should feel the same or slightly more supportive, not tighter.
Can these help with heel pain from football?
The deep heel cup and arch support help absorb ground impact and distribute forces more evenly, which can reduce heel pain from repeated running and cutting on hard pitches. If heel pain is persistent, it's worth seeing a podiatrist — Sever's disease in younger players and plantar fasciitis in adults are both common in football and benefit from proper assessment.
Do I need to get these heat-moulded?
No — they work out of the pack and will gradually conform to your foot shape with wear. Heat moulding by a podiatrist gives a closer, faster custom fit and is recommended if you have specific biomechanical issues.
Can juniors use these?
Yes, provided the sizing fits their boot. Formthotics come in sizes XXS–XL — check the sizing chart to match your junior's boot size. For growing feet, you may need to resize each season.
How long do they last in football boots?
Typically one season of regular training and match play. The sharp studs and high lateral forces in football mean insoles wear faster than in running shoes. Replace when the foam has compressed and you notice less arch support.
