Description

Feet that stay cold no matter how many pairs of socks you wear need more than insulation — they need active warmth. Akileine Cold Feet Warming Cream uses VBE (Vanillyl Butyl Ether), a gentle warming ingredient that produces a noticeable heat sensation within minutes and keeps working for hours. Grape seed oil strengthens the skin's resistance to cold, while ginger and red pepper extracts support circulation — and the nourishing base softens the dry, chapped skin that cold weather leaves behind.

Why podiatrists recommend it

  • Warmth in minutes, lasting hours — VBE creates gentle, sustained heat rather than a short-lived tingle
  • Supports circulation — ginger and red pepper extracts stimulate blood flow to chronically cold feet
  • Useful for Raynaud's-prone feet — a practical comfort measure for people whose toes blanch and ache in the cold
  • Conditions winter skin — softens dryness and chapping while it warms

How to use

Apply twice daily to clean, dry feet and massage in. Wash hands thoroughly after use — the warming ingredients are not eye-friendly. The heat sensation varies from person to person; start with a small amount to judge your response. If your cold feet come with recurring itchy toe lesions each winter, that's chilblain territory — our guide Cold Feet and Chilblains explains the difference and the full prevention routine.

Warming Cream or Akilwinter — which one?

This warming cream is for feet that feel cold: it actively generates warmth and supports circulation. Akileine Akilwinter is for skin that reacts badly to cold — it protects and settles chilblain-prone toes. If you're a chilblain sufferer, the two work well together: warmth to reduce the trigger, Akilwinter to protect the skin. If your feet are simply icy at your desk or in bed, this cream alone is the one you want.

Frequently asked questions

How warm does it actually get?
A gentle, persistent warmth rather than heat — comparable to having just come in from a brisk walk. Intensity varies by individual; a minority feel it strongly, so trial a small area first.

Can I use it with Raynaud's phenomenon?
Yes, it's indicated for Raynaud's-related cold feet as a comfort measure. It doesn't treat the underlying condition, so persistent or severe symptoms — colour changes, pain, skin breaks — warrant review by your GP or podiatrist.

Is it safe to wear socks and shoes after applying?
Yes — in fact socks help hold the warmth in. Allow a minute or two for absorption first.

Can I use it on my hands too?
It's formulated for feet. Cold hands do respond to the same ingredients, but the warming sensation is stronger on thinner skin — if you try it, use sparingly and keep it well away from your face and eyes.

Why are my feet always cold anyway?
Common culprits include naturally low peripheral circulation, sedentary hours, Raynaud's, and some medications. Cold feet that are also painful, discoloured or numb deserve a proper vascular check — something we assess routinely in clinic.
